bringing buck back into work after 5 months off
Hi guys its been a LONG time!

Buccaneer had an incident with some barbed wire at the yard we are at, and took his knee out on it jumping the fence. he jumped it as he was chased by the larger horse in the field btw :)

hes been off with that for a long time, then the farrier i have who is barefooting him told me not to ride him until he says so.

So now im going to slowly bring him back into work, but i was wondering where do i start?!

Poor pony has gotten a bit too round now and is so unfit walking him about in the grass arena for 20 mins was a work out bless him.

any ideas?

thanks in advance x Leigh + fatty buccaneer

Just take it nice and slow, maybe just start handwalking him around for 30 mins each day then gradually build it up from there.

Hey redtree thanks for replying! He's been walked about under instructions by the farrier 10 mins round the roads a day, I guess just increase that everytime?
