I'm going to move this to training. I think you'll have more luck there.

Have you got a trainer? If you ahve then ask them for advice.
I'm not really that knowledable about these sort of things but maybe try a different bit?

He might simply have a bigger stride than the other horses. Big movers need room and I would simply go around the other horses in that case.

Yea lol Ive already spoke to my trainer/instructer ans she's determined that I CAN ride him when Im just not strong enough which usualy ends up me doin a circle around the others to stop us colliding. He does have a big stride but Ive ajusted to it now. Oh well, Im told that if I keep him in "check" constantly then hes better, which he is but to "check" him is much harder than other horses as he pulls so much on the bit :( I think Im not used to him coz ive always ridden the "be gentle to calm them" type not the "be strong to stop em' type" if u get me. Thanx for all your suggestions people, much apreshiated :D

Hello, i do know what you mean, i was about to buy a horse 17.3hh and he had a large stride, there is nothign wrong with that. What i did was just kept him in check, i gave him reminders, like sitting deep in my seat, collecting him, (kinda like a take and give, only if he slows his stride down), kinda like saying "hello im still up here", lol. But yea ust remind him with your seat aids, and the take and give, with the reins, only give if you really feel he slowed down.

he may not be the right horse for you.
you need to show him whos boss and just tell him to relax.

Thank you all, I took the advice and kept him in check and gues what? It worked!!!! :D :D :D His stride is huge but he still steadying up n although the stride is big hes able to stop himself easily and way before we reach the back of the ride. hes also better in the stable because I have more confidence with me, I think hes begining to respect me a bit more :) Thanx for all your help XxX
