Appaloosa Crosses More for fun/interest than anything else, I'm wondering what some general opinions of good crosses of Appaloosas are, especially for English riding/eventing. I'd love to see some existing examples shared too! I know I personally like the idea of an Appaloosa x Aussie Stockhorse. |
1 Attachment(s) we have an appy / welsh pony cross at our barn. The pony has a pretty nasty temperament... but a nice little hunter jump and definitely gets noticed by the judges in the show ring! |
I ride an appy. He has a good temperament . I have seen many Aus. stock horses on the internet (never in person, ) and think they are really nice looking horses. |
1 Attachment(s) I have an appy thoroughbred cross (my applebread :-)) He did eventing before I got him and I showed him in hunters and equitation, I also did a hunter pace on him, now we do lots of trail riding. I love him, lots of personality, definitely stands out, and the best is all the compliments from people at horse shows! I am definitely an appy fan for life :D |
1 Attachment(s) I have a POA, which has mostly appy and QH influence in his backround, they make great little horses! |
there's an app i know of that was a good jumper in the 3'6 to 3'10 range and recently retired age 18. another app mare was a grand prix dressage horse before retiring to become a broodmare. they are the exceptions to the rule but i wouldn't hesitate to get an app for a mid-level allrounder and they are nice crossed to a thoroughbred or Australian stock horse. I've also seen them successfully crossed to Warmbloods and one nice app/friesian cross. Posted via Mobile Device |
