HOmemade Pole bending poles and bases
I am wanting to make my own pole bending poles and bases because going out and buying them are just so exspensive.! I heard that you can use pvc pipe as the poles and coffee cans as the bases. What do you use for homemade poles and bases? Thanks.!:D

Traffic cones. Stick a pole in them. BOOM. Pole bending poles!:D

We made our with PVC pipes (couldn't tell you the diameter, but you can pick it out in the hardware store. Probably around 3 or 4 inches.)
And then we used ice cream pails to make the base. We tied the PVC pipes to a fence so that they would stand perfectly straight while the cement dries in the pails. And then for a while (until the pails fall apart in a year or two), you have a handle with which to carry them.

If you get the next size up of pvc you can just use that to have set in the cement, then you can remove the poles for easier storage.

My mom and I were saving up milk jugs to put poles in to and then use expanding foam insulation to hold them in.

That expanding foam may be to light to hold them upright. Would probably be better to use sand or cement.

We used traffic cones, pvc pipes, and the husband sealed the top of the traffic cone, then turned it upside down, and filled with cement.

I'm aware that it would be too light to hold up. We tried sand and that wouldn't work for our bases.
