extreme abuse

Friday a local man that had a horse ranch was arrested for animal abuse. It's more than sad.
Authorities found 60 near death horses. And after searching the 400 acres found 25 bodies. Some recent and some have been there a few months.

This is so close to home. Nothing on this scale has happened here before. The man is well known here and I heard people didnt want to report him because of who he is. I think they are at fault just as much as he is.

That is awful. whats the fate of the poor 60 near death horses?

They will be up for adoption in a few months. They have been sent out through the state of Louisiana and east Texas to horse rescues. Ill know more details later. They all are Thoroughbreds.

I hope they do to. I wouldve helped out with a couple but as you know I have my own worries with just my two. The last eleven were removed today. And to make matters worse the man leased the land from my stepmother. I haven't spoken to her in over a year. She's not a good person herself but I hope she is one of the people that spoke up. If not she just lost the last of what little respect I had for her. If I'd known I wouldve said something long ago.

Its in Sabine Parish Louisiana. Little town of Many.

Yup, just found an article on it. Seems about 20 of them are on my road now...in rescue. We are in Folsom an the Rodriguez family with Elite are helping out.
What a shame. In a better economy I would take one in in a heartbeat as a eventing prospect for my girl.
