Feeding vitamin supplements AND a ration balancer?
I'm pretty sure I need to increase Lacey's vitamin A intake due to the whole mud fever thing which led to this:
While I was reordering her joint supplement, I decided to take a gander at the vitamin supplements offered by the site I buy her joint stuff from and I found this stuff:
For-A-Flex Pro-Vita - Horse.com
The only problem is that combined with the Enrich 32 she's on, I worry that she could "overdose" on some of those vitamins...
Is that an actual possibility or is it highly unlikely?
I wouldn't continue this extra supplementation into the summer months, just until the mud fever risk is gone and the grass is growing again... So maybe she wouldn't be on it for long enough to have an issue? I don't know...
I wouldn't worry about adding that with the RB. It isn't adding trace minerals to the mix and what it does include are all going to help with what you are trying to do. You're only going to feed 1 oz/day so the extra protein, Ca and P, insignificant. 10,000 IU Vit A and 125 IU Vit E both beneficial. Buy one bag and when it runs out you're done for the winter.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear that my original thinking was pretty much on the right track.
I appreciate it! :)
