your favourite jumping breed and why?
I was just curious, what is everyone's personally favourite breed for jumping and why?

I like the Dutch Warm blood and the Hanoviarian
because of Big Ben and Hickstead

Hanoverian's definitely!

Dutch Warmbloods have always been a favorite of mine. :)
Robbie is a Dutchie with a textbook perfect hunter jump and my horse before him was also a dutch and she had wonderful scope. Both horses have amazing personalities and are extremely athletic. Plus they are both gorgeous greys haha. ;)

Thoroughbreds. Hands down.

Personally my favorite are Holsteiners, they are very athletic and scopey, but most warmbloods that are bred for jumping have the ability to go pretty high. In the past I have had a few Thoroughbreds that were extremely talented, and even an APHA that did 4'+ easily!

i like hanoverians and tbs for jumping, although i prefer hanoverians. my mare is hanoverian/tb which is a great cross. i also used to jump a welsh cob/tb who was an amazing jumper.

I like the Hanoverian and Thoroughbred either on their own or as a cross. If a thoroughbred, however, I prefer one with larger bones rathar than some of the pencil thin versions that are out just makes me wince on the landing every time I see a small boned thoroughbred jump a good sized fence.

Appendix QH who have the QH build, larger bones and stockier, but have the TB height and conformation are also good prosepects. When I got my first horse way back when, another girl had an Appendix. This horse was 16.3 and stocky and could jump the moon and did very well in the then AHSA, or maybe it was AHJA..could never keep the two straight, Amateur Owner Hunter division.

Belgian Warmblood.
They are great amateur horses but have no problem with high level jumping or dressage.
Most of them are so calm and so trustable.
