Leg Clicking???

My Ponys Left leg clicks when he isnt getting riden? I want to know why?!:D

You have to show him to a vet to know why...

It is time to consult a vet. You had mentioned elsewhere that he is young, 3, and just broken -- how, exactly was he trained? Do you know if he has ever had any injury to his leg?

My leg clicks too.

Skyseternalangel 01-20-2012 07:28 PM

Yep.. my legs pop and click and get stuck. And I'm still young. It's just the cold. But if you're really worried, or it's obviously a huge problem then call the vet up, tell them the symptoms, and ask them for their advice.

And ask him about me & Sky too.

If his movements are not showing any discomfort or change, and his demeanor is his usual, it's probably nothing. But, next time you speak to your vet, or is due to come out, ask him about it.

My vet is the type that I can call about anything and we can trouble shoot over the phone. However, we've developed this relationship over years. Maybe you have this with yours.

What you hear is the synovial joint fluid popping in his/her leg(s). This can be a sign of arthritis in the future, as the popping is typically a result of excess wear and tear on the joints.

Which is why, if this is the 3 year old newly "broken" horse I am more concerned.

Oh joy, I'm already old.
