I rode chance today! :D

Well she did amazingly well!! We lunged for a while and she walked trotted and cantered with out much pulling! :D then I got on her and walked around for about 15 mins then trotted :D she did good we just need to work on slowing down lol but she did nice turns when I asked [went around poles, swirved around tight spaces!] and responded nicely to the bit. But she plays with the bit or its because her teeth her so we are gonna get her teeth floated by the end of this week I hope! But she did nicely! We did alot of bending work and working around obsticals at the walk and a little at trotting. Im very proud! also I noticed when she trots she sometimes drags her feet so I kept trotting her over some trot poles to make her pick them up. Then it was soo funny we were trotting and i asked for a quick stop well at first she didnt but then she decided hmm okay and did a sliding stop lmao! sso now I know i cant sell her I mean she knows me when she sees me and calls for me, then wants me to be right there and she comes to me when i say chance or cluck. I think we both having gotten a pretty good bond :) But ive noticed she does amazingly well in the indoor ring, but when outside were a mess. WHY!?! getting a bit annoying but I think when we are outside we are just gonna walk and trot for a while then once we get a canter in the indoor ill start on the outdoor.
things to work on!
--Having a more collected trot!
-- Picking up those hind feet when trotting!
-- work on stoping and standing when I ask and not being to ansy.
-- Pretty soon work our way up to a canter [later on]

but im pretty impressed with chance :} lol and I got to see what I look like on chance when walking/trotting in the mirror. Not trying to brag but I thought I looked pretty good! :D lol. But im proud of chance for not bucking when she cantered on line!

:D! so thats how my day was :)

You might think about putting her on a mare supplement like Mare Magic or Moody Mare. The times she has given you grief may have something to do with her hormones. It might help her be more consistant in her moods.
Glad to hear your mom didn't have to watch you be a rodeo rider

Someone else on the forum suggested Mare Magic, and I can definitely see a change in Spree. Yesterday was the most attitude she's given me in awhile (she's been on MM for about a month maybe), and it was tame in comparison to the charging I would occasionally experience! I think it's a great product.

lol vida she made me a liar :P my oms like what are you talking about she was really good! Im like yes i know! :P but yes Im happy I didnt end up in like a rodeo :P haha

Mare Magic? I was looking into those earlier accually! Thats funny. So do you give that to them everyday??? I usually order from smart pak are there any god ones on there??

missy06 07-07-2008 01:11 PM

Mare Magic is a daily supplement. You give 2 scoops a day for the 1st 10 days, then 1 scoop a day. At first Spree would happily eat it right out of my hand by itself, but now I have to mix it into a little grain.

Yes there are mare supplements on smartpak. If you are unsure of which one to get Chance, i'd contact them and they'll help you figure the best one out. :)

I thought about getting a mare supplement for Vega, but opted out of it, as the more i thought about it, the more i realized it was a training issue, not a mare issue.

HAF, are you going to be working with a trainer? If not, i suggest doing it. It could save both you and Chance from getting hurt.
