Bell boots help
I need some help with fitting and the right type of bell boots for my horse. we are working on collectiong, getting him to round that kinda thing. well obviously he is tracking up behind more. he has now ripped off one front shoe, and i can hear him hitting them during our rides all the time. right now i have just been using those plain rubber pull on bell boots. and even with those on he still was able to pull it off. my farrier has put clips on, etc. to help keep it on.
any suggestions to help him from losing his shoes!?
I have used Professional's Choice, Classic Equine, and about every other bell boot out there..the absolute best I've found are the Justin bell boots. They can be hard to find and they are discontinuing them soon, why I have no idea..So I'm ordering like five pair to keep...my gelding over reaches really bad and he's had the same pair for two years now. The boot has a rough patch on the back, almost like the stuff people line the back of their truck beds with...The are awesome bell boots and I recommend them all the time.
Italian brand is great. The rubber is thicker so it is harder for them to rip or pull off. One of my trainer's clients double-bell boots one of her horses. She puts his regular size on and a size larger over those. It is the only thing she has been able to do to outsmart him haha.
I like the RES Equine Bells the velcro in replaceable. They are the best!
