The joys of being a horse owner
Especially when your big boy and standing there snickering at you when your back side looks like this.
Went down screaming, sat up laughing.
Lol. I was about to start a canter from a trot and looked down to fix my stirrup on my right side went down on my left side. Lol. My bare back pad came undone magically some how and I landed in a 3 and a half foot across, 4 in deep mud puddle. My horse just looked at me before prancing off to go eat hay in the barn and I bet you 10 to 2 he was snickering to him self. :)
In a way it was a saviour. Cause I got up and got my phone so the bf could take pics and mom texted me with a severe storm warning. and clouds were black as night while I went and wrestled up my best friend who had just taken her horse out for a run 30 mins earlier. Bout 40 feet til she got til the barn all hell broke loose. She and jazz were soaked.
So how many times have you ended up in a mud mini lake or puddle? :)
Nice... ;) I can't say I've landed in a puddle yet (there have been many, many, MANY falls in the arena dirt, however) but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later :)
LOL, no falls in the mud here yet. In the grass and in the dirt yes. Worst one was on blacktop, horse and I came out unscathed. Ripped pants on me and a very startled horse.
I've once landed on the side of a creek. All dried up though. I also fell in a composting pile of manure. Thank goodness not face first though. A couple of grass falls and red dirt road falls in there too. Lol. But this one was pretty funny. :)
I've fallen in the sand arena on a jump and got my arm ripped open by the sand and the jump....looked down....laying in a puddle. Not a puddle of mud...a puddle of blood. Yeah...that hurt. alot.
That happened to me many years ago, when a hired hack went round the puddle instead of through it in canter, hit my knee on a tree and knocked me out the saddle into the puddle:lol:
I am just glad I don't have the photos to prove it.
Go change clothes & have a shower, erase any evidence. Too late, you posted for the world to see.....
Hahaha I ended up changing into my riding vest and a pair of swim trunks that were in the barn from last summer. So gross but that's what i get for living an hour away. Lol. I generally have clothes in my car just in case for any reason and we cleaned it out yesterday to do laundry.
But hey if i can't laugh at myself what gives me the right to even chuckle at someone else. :)

I've been lucky no falls in the mud yet, but I've meet grass and dirt quite a few times... Oh and snow once!
Once or twice. Depends what you mean by mud- a soggy outdoor arena, an actual puddle, or just 4 inches of mud. I have had all of those! Every year I slip and fall in mud and come up like you, but thats just me walking..
