Half Pads !
I got a new saddle last fall; but couldn't ride my horse for a few months due to a leg injury. But now I'm riding him almost everyday; and have noticed pressure points on his shoulers (by the whiters)...He'll sweat everywhere else;but those 2 i'm guessing he has pressure points. I'd prefer not to get a new saddle, as I love the one I have..the Dover Circuit Elite. It's a medium tree.

These are the half pads i'm considering...

the mattes

the circuit sheepskin

the roma merino

the cavalareo sheepskin

the deluxe classic pad

yeahh; just tell me which one you think looks best; & your personal experience or what you've heard.

just about anything :]]

i'm open to all ideas.

I have the Mattes sheep skin half pad and I have to say I really like it. The quality is quite nice and it's nice to have for showing. I'm not sure yet if I will have a purpose for it with my 2 horses but....we will see.
When buying one be careful what it's made out of. The photos all look pretty much the same but some of them are actually made of synthetic material and up close look terrible as well as will last only a wash or two before being completely destroyed.

I also have a Mattes sheep skin half pad and I just love it, it's washes well and it's held up 2 years with me riding it once or twice a week (I don't use it everyday, but I use it a lot) and it still looks new. Still soft and fluffy as ever :D

Edit: I originally bought it because my pony didn't have a great back and it worked worked wonders for her. It relieves a lot of pressure off of the wither area.

The mattes pads are nice. A bit pricey but a heck of a lot nicer then the Romas. I'd also check out Fleeceworks.

Take a look at the Equine Comfort pad also available from Dover. I looked at many before I decided on this one...very durable, thick, cushy and has removable insert pads.
