Random question.

But... Do you celebrate holidays with you horses? If so how? What are your favorite treats or traditions? :)

My son and my gelding share a birthday! So this year my son will get his crawfish boil and my gelding his carrots :)

If I remember I make a special mash with molasses, carrots, oats, and whatever else I have that's safe for horses. I normally only remember to bring it on Christmas though.

Absolutley. They get a present just like I do. I also get one for all the cats and dogs too. Usually the horses will get a new halter or leadrope etc and a big candycane. The presents get wrapped up and everything and the animals get to open them.

Our cats have their own stocking, and our dog has his own stocking. We put stuff like cat/dog treats, catnip, new toys, and stuff like that in there. We got a box of toys for our dog Sam, where the toys are tied to the box. He got to unwrap it and tried to "help" us untie the toys.

All of my animals get Christmas presents and birthday presents..Usually, they also have to endure costumes or funny outfits.

Not usually, they get enough special treatment every day. I do buy "them" Christmas presents, this year they got a couple new headstalls, half chaps, spur straps, 2 new myler snaffles.

I do plan to do something to celebrate Hondo's upcoming 30th birthday though...not sure what. He's already spoiled and gets hot mash for meals, maybe I'll let him have a bit of molasses with it ;)

Yep! My dog gets a stocking at xmas, and we celebrate her bday every year. I'm pretty sure this is going to carry over to the horse as well. Pretty much everything under the tree this past xmas was for the horse.

Kelo gets treats and stuff at christmas time. I think for the cook out holidays when we so stuff I might make him a oat and molasses sammich on a hamburger bun,( no seeds of course) and put some Cole slaw with no dressing just for fun. I love to treat (border line spoil) Kelo. I'm still not sure if he'll want a carrot cake for his birthday. Hahahahaha!

Every holiday together! Even made up ones! But being with my horses everyday is better than holidays or all the presents in the world <3
