Horse rider with injured ankle
If a horse rider is unable to put weight on their left ankle, how would they get on their horse?

On the right side!:-P
getting on the right hand side or doing as some disabled people do and sit sideways on the horse and then swing a leg over the horses neck.

I would suggest using a mounting block, placed on the right side of the horse. There is no reason whatsoever that you *must* mount from the left, I actually make a point to mount/unmount from both sides when working with a horse.
