how to improve my position
hi, I can walk, trot, canter, and jump (2'9' is my highest jump :-)) ive been having a problem with my posture on a horse at the mo, im always getting told to sit up because I tend to lean back..
I sometimes even know im doing it, but I don't know how to stop myself leaning back ,, any tips ???
im goin on a riding holiday in a couple of weeks :-) and would like to get out of this really annoying habit before i go or at least improve it..
Any advice would be grateful thanks x

do you have any pics or videos of you riding? if so you should post them here or in the critique section! its easier to see what is going wrong with your position that way:)

I agree with Jumper12, pics and vids would be a great help!
Suggestions: Make sure that your legs aren't going to far forward which can cause you to be leaning back. Do core strengthening exercises as well, it sounds like you might be lacking strength in that area.

I agree with pumpkin and would add - sometines leaning forward is caused by the rider looking at ground. So ALWAYS look forward straight ahead and lift your ribcage - impossible (at least for me) to lift the ribcage while leaning forward.

I've got a good book that I can recommend, it's called "Balance in Movement - How to Achieve the Perfect Seat" or something along those lines.
