Bombproofing Horses Pictures
Got any pictures of you or someone you know working on Bomb proofing horses that you know? I have a few posted below, I tend to get horses that aren't phased by my attempts to de-spook them. So I am also asking for ideas. My current horse has seen the following:
Belly Dancing Coin Scarves
Running Water (as in a River)
Carpets and Rugs
She is not phased by any of these things. I am looking to go back to some more simple scary items like plastic bags on whips and tarps, since you never know what a horse will be spooked by. I want to try a tiki torch and some of the party favors that shoot confetti. Any other ideas? I've seen horses be terrified of floaty devices like inter-tubes. And other inflatable devices like the holiday yard blow ups.
Judge with a floaty and other "scary" things on him. Notice he's not scared.
Tia not being very scared of the flag. She looked at first at the noise it made in the wind...but was fine with it after.
Tia enjoying some shade under an umbrella on a hot spring day. Wasn't afraid of the sudden opening of it...tried to eat it instead
Dreamer's first ride after 10 years in the pasture...not caring at all about the popped inflatable pool in the round pen.
Any cool pictures out there? I love seeing ones where horses ARE afraid at first and then pictures of them calm. Kinda a before and after type thing. Since horses are prey animals, when they are faced with something they are scared of they tend to flee (fight or flight). When you can get a horse to trust you enough to face their fears (which is whatever you have that they are scared of) then you have made a good accomplishment in you and your horse's bond.
I unfortunately don't. But I have to say I LOVE that first picture. It made me giggle. I also LOVE the first horse's halter. You seem to have very smart horses :).
I love the first picture of your horse with the life preserver
