Registration papers for AQHA/APHA foal.

My APHA mare will be bred in May to an Appendix AQHA stallion.

How do you go about getting registration papers for the foal when it's born?

I've registered APHA x APHA but never Appendix AQHA x APHA before.

The AQHA stud will need a permit (one time fee & form) on file with APHA. Most stallion owners have done this, but you need to ask to make sure. Call APHA and verify that the stud has been recorded with them.

Next the stallion owner must file a breeding report with APHA.

Then, if the stallion owner releases is, you will receive your breeders certificate.

Last use the certificate just like you normally would to register the foal.

Thank you, that's exactly what I needed to know. :-)

Another thing to think about, appendix stallions in AQHA association have to have one point to get regular papers to breed and have registered foals. Otherwise their foals can't be registered. I would check with the APHA association to see if they have similar rules.
