I need to pick a joint supplement for my two mares that have arthritis. A trainer recomeended cosequin because she uses that. And I have heard many good reviews on it. But a friend of my uses a liquid joint supplement called Acti-Flex 4000. I want to buy the best supplement for my horses....not the cheapest. I asked my vet what he recomeended...he said cosequin is good, but exspensive. He said Cosequin spends a lot of money on advertisement and that is why it is popular and exspensive.
So I compared the ingredients of the two joint supplements. The acti-flex had a lot more ingredients then the Cosequin. It also had higher amounts of each ingredients then the Cosequin did. Here is each joint supplement:
Acti-Flex ($23.95 for 32 days) ($0.73 per day):
Contains 4000mg Chondroitin Sulfate
8000mg Glucosamine HCl
2000mg MSM,
125mg Hyaluronic Acid,
1000mg Ester-C
1000mg Perna Canaliculus
150mg Yucca plus Boswella Serrata to reduce inflammation in each 1 oz serving
Cosequin (35.95 for 28 days) ($1.28 per day):
3600 mg of Glucosamine
1200 mg of Chronroitin Sulfate
So I really do not know which one is better or which one I should pick. I've never had to pick a joint supplement before. Which would you guys suggest?
