Caring for Gypsy Cob Feather.

Does anyone have experience with washing and chalking feather on a cob or similarly feathered horse. All 4 of my horses have a bunch of crumbly bits of stuff in the feather where those "knuckle" things break off and crumble in the hair. I have never had anyone talk about how they get this out easier than just picking at it and it is pretty thick in a couple of my horses feather. Does anyone know what i am talking about and know any tips on getting it out. Thanks

Haven't tried this stuff yet . But it is for long/thick manes and feathers . The reveiws on another horse forum were really good . I'm about buy a small start kit .(I need new brushes ,so I thought 2 in 1 .)
