Bridle Path
Can I make a bridle path using scissors? Or is it better to use a clipper? I really don't want to buy a $100 clipper that I'll only use a few times. :-|

I've done it. It takes more time and it's harder to get even but it can be done until you get a set of clippers.

It's way easier with clippers but yes it's possible to do with scissors.

Yup, can be done with scissors :) But hey, why don't you just go to Kroger and get some regular clippers for like 15 bucks? It's what we did ... and we clip nose, bridle path, coronet bands... they don't last as long, and you have to be careful, but it's cheap :p

I do Rascals with them all the time. He doesn't mind the clippers, but the poodles are such a pain to keep clipped it's easier to snag my blunt medical scissors and snip snip and done.

Did it for two and a half years! Then I bought these,

Just make sure the scissors are good and sharp, and it won't take as long! :)

I just use scissors. I'm only trail riding and only make mine wide enough for the bridle to just set down in. So I grab the chunk I want and cut as close to the root as possible. Looks fine and its quick and easy. Now if you were doing it for a show or wanted a longer section - it might not work so well.

I've used scissors before and it worked fine. Not as close but it was still even. I bought a pair of dog clippers years ago for about 25 bucks that I used. They worked fine...
