Stolen in Ireland.
STOLEN!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Our beloved Lioness, Granddaughter to the late Lion King has been stolen! She is 13.3hh, black & white, microchipped, no brands, DNA'd, heavy in foal, and was taken from Bunclody, Co. Wexford, Ireland from private property.
We are offering a reward for her safe return, with her foal! I cannot express how devastated we are. PLEASE SHARE!!!! Someone must know or have seen something!
Please keep a lookout for this lovely girl. Feel free to pass this on to anyone you know or on other forums. Let me know here if you have any ideas please.
Her owner is on FB.
She could be anywhere by now and likely on her way to Europe.
I hope they find her...how devastating to have an animal stolen from you!
I am sorry for the loss of your horse
I hope you are able to locate her and that she is safe along with her foal
I will pray for her safe return
The mare was not ours, Country Woman.
The mare has now been found but in dreadful condition. She must have foaled after being stolen. She was due to foal when she disappeared. The baby has not been recovered, so some criminal has taken and hidden it.
Where was the horse found?
I gather she was found not too far away from where they live in Ireland. However, since nobody has seen the foal except the criminals who stole her, the foal cannot be identified. If a suspect foal is found though, it can be identified by DNA.
Are they certain she was stolen? I don't know how she was kept but is it possible she wandered off to have her baby, possibly through a downed fence & the baby died but she stayed with it for days?
It just seems like an elaborate plan to steal a mare for her baby when no one really can be sure when they will foal.
No. Definitely stolen. And besides, even if a mare did wander off, she would stayed by her baby, had she foaled.
Horse stealing in the UK, is sadly alive and well. I hear of it all the time. Most are never found but end up being sold to Europe, where there is a big market for Gypsies. Somebody knew this mare and her background and wanted the baby. They knew they could not hide the mare for long, since Gypsies can be easily identified by their markings.
How absolutely awful! Nobody wins in a situation like this-what horrible people.
