Horse with Carpus Valgus
I have a horse who is now 4 years old. He was orphaned early on in life and was bottle fed. When he was about 3 months old he was kicked by another mare and caused damage to his front right growth plate in the knee causing the turning of his leg whats known as Carpus Valgus. With the help of a vet. and farrier we have gotten his leg as straight as it's ever going to be thanks to quick thinking and lots of time and dedication before the growth plate hardened. He doesn't limp when he walks or even runs. When you look at him head on you can barely see the turn. Anyways, he has been cleared by the vet for light riding. I know that I myself will never ride him, but I would still like to give him a job to do and to be able to work him. Has anyone ever had a horse with this? Did they do well in carting, becoming a pack horse or even lounge jumping?
