What bit do you show in?
Well I'm thinking it's about time to buy a new show bit (I don't really like the 'look' of my current one's shanks, yeah I know haha)
So I was wondering what your guys show shanks looked like? And just so I can put it in perspective what type of mouthpiece is on it too.
ive got a medium shank correction bit. ill get pictures tomorrow if you want.
THese are mine.......
I use this one with my rawhide headstall-more casual look
Tom Balding Long “S” Ballhinge Pro Roller Bit - Smith Brothers
this one with my "fancier" headstall
Tom Balding Shank Bit 19 - Sheridan - Performance Horse Supply
I've yet to actually complete my show tack, with a show bit, but when I eventually get to getting one, I'll be getting something along these lines.
Fixed medium port cavalry bit with sweet iron. They make them with fancier silver on the outside too. It's a great training bit, but I want one that has more weight to it. It's pretty light and takes a bit of sensitizing.
^ I am in LOVE with your horse and her splints! SO PRETTY!
Here's a few that work great in the team roping horses. I imagine they'd work great if I tried something other than roping with them :P
My mare ropes and barrel races and does everything with this bit:
And my 2 all time fav's this far:
^^ I like that first bit, it reminds me of my current bit. I think I'm going to stay away from brown bits this time though- I love the look of silver bits.
