Hackamore
 

Ive never used a hackamore in my life and my new horse uses one and i need to know how to put it on

The leather or rope band needs to go over the nose with the shanks hanging down. The chain gets fastened under the jaw (not too tight) If there is a cable between the shanks to keep them closer together, be careful not to get it in the horse's mouth.

If you have a mechanical hackamore, this is how it should look. Where the curb strap is, some have a chain instead.
