I'm not very good at the color thing either! Especially with the pinto colors. I have a horse color book that is like a foreign language to me, but I did look up the buckskin/dun coloring with dapples and this is what it said:

"Mottling appears as small dots or circles in shades darker than the body color, and should not be confused with dapples. It is not generally found on the horse's winter coat. Mottling is found on the forearms, gaskins, shoulder and stifles."

Anyway, this was in the dun section and they referred to the mottling as a "secondary characteristic". I'm sure someone here knows what color he is!

thank you very much-i wont be sending my KEG over to the critic section tho-i have already got some poundage off him but he needs more-even when he was a little guy he looked like a pot belly ***

on the color thing his mottled spots are lighter in color, i think he is too dark for a dun but just dont know
