OK-how sound does he look to you?
This is my old retiree. He is going to go to a therapeutic riding program later this week. I have told them walk trot only, and I think he looks pretty good...wanted to see what you all see, as I ALWAYS think he is off in back.Ąt=IMG_0060.mp4Ąt=IMG_0062.mp4

He doesn't look too bad. There is one point in the second video at about :24 seconds, when he hops a bit on his fores. Not sure if that's just a habit of his, or if it's a sign of anything? He doesn't look arthritic in his movements, so that is a plus :)

I think he didn't want to step in the poo that was there......;-)

FRANK he looks great to me I love that he stops and looks at you like "Did you get it?" and does a little Ugggh "More!?" lol I dont see not lameness from the videos.

YAY! See -I still see the stiffness in the hocks, particularly the left. He also has an old suspensory injury. His left rear has become really twisted as he has aged. THis old guy is 22, and when he was foaled, the vet wanted to put him down he was so cowhocked. THe breeder rigged up some apparatus with PVC and straightened him out enough that he was my H/J guy for years with out any lameness issues. Just the past 3-4 years he needs Cortaflex and MSM. Now to deal with his belly that makes him look like he will foal anytime now....

XD yep, he sure doesn't look like a hard keeper!

I can see a little of that stiffness that you're seeing- but it isn't terrible and the walk/trot will actually help him keep limber and feeling good longer. Glad to hear that he's going into therapy- the older 'been there done that' horses are always a joy to have, and they really seem to enjoy it too!

He has actually done it before at a different facility. He came home because he could no longer canter......they tried to correct his left rear and made it worse. It has taken over a year to get him back to this, and no-he is not a hard He lives on "air".

I totally agree that it is really good for him, and am glad he is able to do it.

Looks fat to me, but not off.

HaHa-that he is. Thanks!

He doesn't look too off to me. A little stiff, especially when transitioning from walk to trot.

I hope he is happy where he is and is getting good care!
