2 down 6 more to go -blah-
Im taking out all my horses for an hour today and it's about 103? Blah! Why must I be in the high desert! lol
So far ridden
Wish me luck.Lol
I wouldnt ride too long! To darn hot
Wow!! Good luck!! 8) Put on some sunglasses and sunblock!!! I hope it gets cooler out for you!!
Lol thankyou guys--I just got back from riding finesse whew lol I forgot to put sunblock on and now im burnt :( lol i'm only putting an hour on each horse but making sure they have plenty of water!
Im sorry you got burnt! :x
Lol thanks 8) I look like a tomato. XD
Sorry to hear you got burnt. I'm not worried about the horses being out an hour, but worried about you. Heat stress could be bad and an unexpected dizzy spell while on horseback could be bad. Take care of yourself and make sure you are cooling down between rides. Cool water on your wrists and face will help.
Oh wow! Thanks for the info--Thats new to me I didnt know cool water on your face and wrists would help! I'll do that! Thank you again.
I don't do well in the heat and will sometimes soak my hands, past my wrists in cold water. You'll be amazed how much that helps.
Also, if you can, inbetween rides, take off your shoes and socks. A lot of heat will escape through your feet.
And if you want, hose off your head before putting on your helmet (if you put on a helmet) the water will drip down your back and cool you off too!
Other than that, take frequent water breaks :)
The main reason why I live in Canada. It's never "hot" for very long and we have fantastic spring and summer months before we are hit hard with snow again :)
