Judging by video shows
I feel sad. The next small show on this island will be judged by video.
So even my dearest love --- horsemanship and riding --- will be reduced to pixels and streamed into a remote, flat, odorless, no doubt indoor, enclosed rectangle. I'm sure it will be wonderful for some. I myself enjoy YouTube immensely. But I feel video can relay only the most superficial of the realities of horse-human relationships. The difference being watching a flashy Friesian, say; and walking up to the immense head, and stroking the long, strong bony, blowing nose. Judges who have been taught via video won't even know what I'm talking about.
Some show people might say that about those that judge in person, as well.
