Rope Burn Treatment
My mare got rope burns on the back of her pasterns, on both of her back legs.
This happened about a week and a half ago and while they are looking better, it's not healing as fast as I thought they would, but maybe they just take longer due to the location that there at?
I started out washing them every day, scrubbing with Betadine solution, drying the area then I would apply Scarlet Oil and some antiseptic ointment then wrap it over night.
In the mornings, I took the bandages off then applied more antiseptic ointment.
I did that for 4 days then I just started applying the scarlet oil and ointment.
Now it's starting to scab over but I'm afraid it's going to open again just due to the location it is in.

Has anyone dealt with this and/or have any advice on what I need to do, if anything?

I don't know about what to do to help a horse with a rope burn specifically, but when I got my rope burn I used Colloidal Silver Gel which I think when I bought it from Walgreens that it was just called Silver Gel and it healed my hand pretty quickly.
