TB getting back in shape!!

I just moved Pride to a new barn a little closer to me so I will have a lot more time to ride him. I am super excited. I am working on a lot more dressage now and getting him relaxed instead of always in "race mode" so here is a pic of him out of shape from today and hopefully *fingers crossed* he will be a lot more balanced by the end of the year!! Let me know what you think we need to work on... :-P

Wow, look at those legs!
His hindquarters seem to be lacking the proper amount of muscle compared with the rest of his body, so i would put some work into that area. Hills do wonders for the hindquarters ;)

aghhh, I just love Pride's build. BIIIIG with good bone for a thoroughbred! I definitely agree with Lilruffian about his hindquarters- they're need plenty of work- but lots of hills and working off of that butt will fix this up quick!

I think just the mere size of his shoulders and neck are part of why he looks so scrawny in the back. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a tank-like TB as far as his front end goes xD

Thanks for the comments!! Yea his butt has always been his weakness. I get a lot of people who think he is at least part Warmblood of some sort due to his size and build, they think the Jockey Club made a mistake  He REEEALLY carries himself on the forehand and so he definitley builds those muscles. We are doing lots of transitions and working on building our back and butt up with trot poles and trotting over crossrails. He gets bored so easily though it can only last about 5 minutes before we have to do something else. There aren't any hills around us unfortunatly otherwise we would be doing that a lot. Any other suggestions would be great!
