Foxfire

I know these are not the best pictures, but my mom had to take them, because I was holding Foxy. My mom is horrible with electronics.

I'm not great with conformation critiquing, I'm better with riding

I think she's a bit bum high (is she young coz that would explain it),
a bit dippy in the back, and you need to build up her topline so that her neck undermuscle becomes looser.

thanks, She is beautiful and my best friend. I think she is bum high and just to let you know she is not young, she is almost 14. I got her from a standardbred trainer and she was almost 400lbs overweight, She has drastically improved. she looks so much better. The vet was worried if I sat on her and walked for more than ten minutes she would have a heart attack, and look at her now. We are competing in local fun shows and working on her training. she even canters and pulls a cart now.

Do you have pictures when she was that size? And what did they feed her? 400 pounds is insane.

I am so glad that we got her weight down. I don't know what I'd have done without her. The reason that she got so overweight was because her owner didn't use her anymore, so her parents kept her at their farm. They race standarbreds so they had no use for her. She spent the better part of 2 years standing in a small roundpen with a minnie and a huge roundbale of hay. with no way to exersize it is easy to see how she gained so much. To get her weight down we cut her grain to a handful, and the owner and vet decided to give her a flake of hay in the morning and one more flake at night. In the winter she got an extra flake with each meal. But by that time she was rideable for more than ten minutes. Now she is at a good weight. Here are some pics.

- built slightly down hill

- slightly turned in in front ( could be the way she is standing)

- turned out at the back

-not very wide in front or behind

- short kneck

- large head

- ehind the knee on the back leg

- shoulder angle is ok

- short front legs.

Very cute looking though.

You beed to work on muscles... just cutting foor or doing endurance riding wont cut weight in the right way rather replace the weight with nice muscles. Good Luck :D
