TWH, Mountain, Missouri Fox Trot

i am a big fan of TWH and Mountain Horses but reading alot about the Missouri Foxtrotters.

I have watched countless videos on youtube and just trying to get a feel of a foxtrotter gait. Do they rack? Or is the fast stepping walk the foxtrot? Sorry Im an idiot on the foxtrotters.

Ive not been active with horses in years. I am glad to see the Mountain Horses are so popular. 20+ years ago, I spend alot of time in the KY Mtns riding and those Mtn Horses were everywhere. id never seen or ridden one but fell in love with a good Racking Horse that you could ride all day.

Thanks for having me.

No, the foxtrot is a different gait.

can they go fast in this gate? sorry if it is a stupid question

Yes they can move quickly in it. Usually 12 mpg being tops, but some have been clocked at a speed up to 14 while still holding correct form and performing the gait correctly. It is also ridiculous how smooth and comfortable it is :)
