Mane & Tail ?
What is the fastest way to get them to grow back out after my goat ate them?:-)
Sadly enough....time, time and more time. I would also refrain from brushing. I know it will look prettier brushed, but every time you brush mane/tail hair you break of a bunch, so the less you brush it, the less it will break off. Keeping it conditioned will also help.
You could try MTG (you get it at tack stores), and it works for SOME horses but not all horses. It stinks REALLY bad and makes a gooey mess sometimes. Also, you should test it for allergic reaction on a small spot somewhere on your horse where nothing will rub or irritate it if it does have a reaction. It's uncommon, but some horses have reacted to it.
Other than that, keep the goat from eating it.
You may also want to get a tail bag to put the tail in.
When I had horses, I would braid their tails and leave them like that, or braid them and put them in tailbags.
If you do braid, I suggest when you put your horse out to pasture, put it in a tail bag so the tail doesn't get knotted.
The goat ate it!!! Kinda like my dog ate the homework! MTG is an oily mess that attracts a lot of dirt so just use it at the base of the hair. I learned that the hard way. Still trying to get it out of her forlock sp? The tail bag works but I don't do that so that she can use her tail to swat the flies. The flies are really bad right now.
