So someone tells me today, "You sure have a obsession with your horse"

I didn't know what to say without sounding like a a$$hole. :-|

Forgive them, for they not know of what they speak. *For the record, the term is horse crazy and there is nothing wrong with that.

My family doesn't say it, they just think it, and now they know better (at least the adult kids) than to tell me I spend too much on it too. Oh well. I don't realy care about their cars, etc.

I usually say, "Yeah, one day you'll be passionate about something too."

My co-workers feel the same way about me.

I have learned to keep my obsession to myself. Well......most of the time.

Of course I do have pictures of my horses along side the pictures of my grandchildren and children at my work station. Perhaps I'm not as in control of my obsession as I thought? But the big question is .....do I care? Nope , not one bit!

I think them saying that is more rude than anything you could respond with.

Honestly, they're investments, they're friends, and we love spending time with them. If that's obsessed then I guess I am too and there's nothing wrong with that!

I started to think about this more. Now if someone were obsessed with , bread making and went on and on about it, well, I would have difficulty to listen. Perhaps while we all find everything about horses interesting, for some people it comes across as "bread making"?

While I would not be intentionally rude, I would at the first opportunity change the topic.

Just a thought.
