Cutting a mane, without being a blunt cut?
My boyfriends mare use to have a huge mat, which she ripped out. (while back) so the middle section of her mane is about 5 inches long and the top and bottom is almost a foot. How can I cut it to length, without it looking cut..? I'd rather not actually have to buy anything lol

I've heard that flipping the mane over to the other side of the neck, brushing it out, cutting it, flipping it back, and brushing it out again is pretty effective.

I've done it once and it did come out pretty well - like a grown out pulled mane.

Awesome, basically what I was looking for. I didn't want to have to buy one of those comb things, as this will be the only time her mane is cut lol. Thank you :)

Thinning shears.

I flip it over, and go along with the thinning shears. It takes a while as you are only cutting *some* of the hairs at a time but it looks good when you are done. My trainer complemented me on the "great job I did pulling his mane"!

About how much do those run price wise? Like I said, they'll be used only once :P

Do the flippy thing Wallaby suggested then take little chunks and cut upwards in any parts that still look hacked at. for thick manes you might have to do it in layers, like humans lol
