Narcolepsy

So i just learned that my new lease horse has a minor case of narcolepsy. the only time she falls asleep is when shes standing still XDDD. anywhoo is there anything i should be aware of. her owner has has no issues with her falling asleep with her on bailey.

As you'll spend a lot of time next to her when she's standing still it is a concern that you or her will be hurt.

I knew a narcoleptic mare once, her name was Freckles and if she nodded of on you all you had to was jiggle the reins and say her name shed wake right up "what? Oh! I'm here I'm here! Sleeping? Pffft don't be silly."

Thats exactly what bailey does!! XD the second time i met her and the first time i rode her my legs started to hurt so we were standing and all of a sudden her head started to go low about wither height and sureee enough she was dozeing XD. the owner has never had an issue with the horse falling asleep while rideing its only if she stands for a long period of time
