Your colt is only a desent coz and then only in the 15 to 16 generation. though a horse named Zantanon.
so really that is no back deal.

You are rude and you don't know how to spell

NY, that is really cool! How interesting! I'm not that interested in bloodlines, but it's always cool to see how our horses tie in with others!

Am not being rude to anyone.and I have know trouble spelling.
talking about relationships then in the distences mine are all related to the famous horses, but up closer in the five though to the 10 generation,King,Leo,Top Deck, Zantonon,Joker B.,Scribbles, Yellow Jacket,Red Dog,Hollywood Gold, Hollywood Dun It,Done Gotta Gun just to name a few.
They are real famous horses. horses who made the Quarter horse, Appaloosa, and the Paint breeding what they are today. They also have Arabian blood in them in the 15 generation. like most all horses blood. they trace to Arabian and TB some where in they lines.they all are related.
Even if they are Registered in a solid registry like Paint,Quarter Horse, Arabian, TB, Standardbred, Morgan, some where along the lines they come togather.

Very interesting to hear. Not long ago I found out that my own Paint filly was related to another member's paint colt through a stallion named Dont Dare Skip Me. :D

I look in the first 3, possibly 4 generations for "big names". After that, you can pretty much bet that they are just plain "bred out." I dont even look past the 4th as the rest are just not a big influence.

I love researching pedigrees. I think some of my favorite horses are Impressive, King P234, Poco Bueno, Zippo Pine Bar and my all time favorite will always be Zan Parr Bar.

Zan Parr Bar to me, is the near exact thing a true QH should be. A performer and a producer. And what a gorgeous build he had! Now if I could find a mare with him up close I would just faint.

Out of curiosity, why Impressive?

ThorArb 02-13-2007 12:36 PM

Why NOT Impressive? He has had a great impact on the QH, Paints and Appaloosas of today. He is a remarkable producer and has stood up all these years. Most people see Impressive as a Halter horse. But wouldn't you know he is a PROVEN Western Pleasure sire. Those Impressives halter and ride! And look gosh darn pretty doing it.

Here is a link to his own accomplishments and that of some of his get:

I have 3 Impressive bred horses. With one more on the way any day now.

It can be controlled but is very unfortunate.

ThorArb 02-13-2007 08:11 PM

That I can agree with you on. It is very unfortunate that Impressive carried this disease. Nevertheless, he has had a great impact on Qhs, Paints and Appys. I, ashamed to admit it, was one of those that knowingly bred HYPP positive horses, because I WANTED a positive horse. I have owned my share of positive horses and I am ashamed at myself for doing such breeding. However, I can totally understand why it continues. Do I still do it, heck no. All of my horses are tested negative. And I will only breed negative horses.

But it is also shameful that Impressive and Impressive bred horses are faced with such a reputation because of HYPP. I know several people throughout the US that will not have anything to do with an Impressive horse, regardless of being N/N or not. Unfortunate that ignorance abounds.
