Has anyone ever used SmartPak supplements? Do they have good results?
I like SmartPaks and know a lot of people that use them with great success. I think they'll send you samples of whatever to be sure your horse likes it.
i use the smart calm ultra smartpak supplement and i like it and so does my horse. he is much calmer than without them. they are also really easy to feed because they are measured out already and you just have to open the package into a bucket of grain. plus you get a free drawer thingy for it to store and haul easier. definetaly would suggest them
also use their smartpaks for dogs and my dogs love the food and is super easy to feed them also.
SmartPak is fantastic both in their costumer service and their supplements, I've been using them for years and I have never had a problem.
smartpaks are great ! my mare is on a dos and a half of smarthoof and smartbugoff. she is picky and eats both pellets very well ! it is super convenient and cheap, i love it !
I am not a huge fan of smartpaks, they tend to be very expensive. In addition, there is very little scientific research done on what are the therapeutic levels of each thing in the packs. Ie. its not like the package says it has 100mg of glucosamine. Likewise, there is not a lot of research that says what a therapeutic dose is ie. research saying 75mg daily is an effective dose of glucosamine to reduce lameness in 50% of horses. I also don't trust that they don't have an ingredients listed on the package. Which worries me because I like to know what I am feeding other then "performance formula". This was the last time I looked at smartpak stuff which was about a year ago, they might have changed their packaging since then. I know some folks swear by them but its not my cup of tea. If you want to give a joint supplement the one with the best research behind it is cosequin. If are you worried about joint care and supplements I would ask your vet what they think. They know your horse and they know you so they might have some ideas.
I like smartpak- great customer service, and the supplements I want wound up being cheaper through them than the local supply store. For my supplements the ingredients were listed on an insert that comes with the shipment. I also like that if I order other things (flyspray, riding helmet, etc) they will ship free with my next set of supplements.
Sunny is on SmartGut for her tummy, and four other horses at the barn use SmartPaks.

They seem somewhat expensive but I wouldn't mind paying if they bring good results. I was thinking of usin SmartFlex senior and SmartHoof.
