I had my pony nearly 3 years
shes always caught
but lately ive been riding her alot more and she wont catch, i dont do much on her(cause i cant for the first 30 minutes becos of her breathing prob)
so it int like shes worked hard
Whats hard to believe is she lives alone but hacks out with company, so i dunno why she dont like being caught cos shes going to see her friends.
Any tips for catching?? ( tried food and everything i could think of)

Thanks in advance

when my horse did that, i used to make her run in the field, if she decided to run away from me i would go get the lunge line and make her run, when she would try to stop i would make her run again, then after a little while i would stop and then i would turn my back to her asking her to come up to me, this teaches them its a lot easier to come to you and that she wont have to run if she comes when u go to get her. This teaches them that coming to you is a reward instead of them running away from you. I know this sounds harsh, but i was taught by a natuaral horseman, Monty Roberts and John Lyons to do this. I think I only had to do this with my mare two or three times and that was it.

From then on when i would come out to get her she would actually trot up to me! So theres something you could try. You may have to try it a couple times, but i've done it with other horses too and it always seemed to work.
