mechanical cow ..NOT BULL info wanted
my trainer pete is installing a mechancial cow. he is big into cutting and wants to start me on one of his horses to get a feel for it.
what is tho goal of working a mechanical cow?
i will have more questions after the first lesson but whatever info you guys have and want to share is more then welcome.
The difference between a mechanical cow and a real cow is that you can control every move the cow makes. It's especially good for young horses because they won't get beat and take a hit to their confidence. Plus, you can work them as slow or as fast/hard as you think they need to on that particular day. Putting the mech cow on a slower setting is also great for a person just learning cutting because, in spite of how easy those riders make it look, it takes a lot of work to sit a cutting horse well.
thanks smrobs :)
