Reeco update and a few pics
Well Reeco is now 3 weeks into his box restand he has settled beautifully.

i was told to get some weight off him, however dispite changing his feed from a conditioning mix to happy hoof (the feed for laminitics) and giving him a small holed haynet to try and make his hay last longer (he gets distructive if he has no hay)

anyway today i tied him to the stable opposite and gave him some attention and pampering. He loved it and after trying to groom me back he fell asleep.

He did however wake up when the camera came out

I'm glad he's doing better! Slowly but surely

He's very handsome though :)

Any more news?? Updates?

no real news, he is happy in his stable, chilled and quiet.

Last week he decided that rubbing his tail on the stable wall was a good idea to relieve boredom. Silly plonker rubbed it untill it bled and then presented me with a red raw tail looking very sorry for himself. I've cleaned it and put sudocream on it (cream for nappy rash) and he hasnt done it again!

I need to get me some sudocream... works for everything but they don't sell it out here :S

Dubai has rubbed his hocks, so put some iodine stuff on it, and blue sprayed them the day after. I was expecting a jump, lift of a leg or a freak out and he just stood there and looked at me.. clever boy!

Have you got one of those horse ball things? My dad's mare was on stable rest for 8 weeks after an op on her leg, and it saved her sanity, we found some small treats that were sugar free, would pile them in and she'd roll it around all day long, hid carrots in her haynet too.. that way funny...she forgot all about the hay and ws just trying to get to the carrots and attacking the hay net wahahaha

Yep, he had one for all of about 15 mins, He realised very quickly the harder he kicked it the more treats fell out (because it went further). I took it off him after he booted it through the window.

I gave it back to him the next day and he then had it trapped between his chin and his leg and rocked it untill all the treats fell out, then he ate the treats, took him 10 mins flat!

Silly animal is too intelligent for his own good

Bahahahaha my goodness it's David Beckham the horse! Heehee he sounds quite the character and very intelligent. Going to have to be smart to keep ahead of that one!
