Leather workers

Is there anyone where who does leather work? I just go some equipment and hope to get started this weekend. I needed a winter hobby.

No but HAVE FUN!!!! I've always wanted to start but had no idea how. I do want to get into wood burning once I get back to the states.. it's been something that has interested me for a long while.

My hubby does leather work. Unfortunately when we came to TX we had to sell his sewing machine, we didn't have room for it in the trailer. But he wanted one that could sew thicker leather anyhow. He loves building fancy headstalls, he is like a little kid, gets all giggly when picking out the silver. LOL

We have a friend that is an amazing silversmith(he got bored with saddlemaking) and hubby and I both are going to take silver engraving classes from him. The silver engraving is much more interesting to me and doesn't require as many tools :)

You dont need to know how to start. I got a cheep starter kit with a dvd. And i bought the stuff i need. Watched Utube for a long time. And now all i have to do is start. I want to get into tooling and stamping spur straps at first then make some gun holsters. I hope to be making chaps and headstalls by winter. Just have to find paterns.
