Horse Feeds, Power on or Equijewel

Hi Everyone,

So I'm interested in hearing more about two feeds competing at the moment...

Equijewel by K.E.R. and Vitamite Power On by Mitavite

EquiJewel:

1kg
Digestible energy
18-19MJ
Crude protein(min)
13%
Crude fat
18-20%
Crude fibre (max)
13%
Calcium (min)
2.25%
Phosphorus (min)
1.5%
Vitamin E
650IU
Selenium
1 mg

PowerOn:
ENERGY DE (MJ/KG)
15
PROTEIN %
11
OILS %
18
FIBRE %
9
SALT %
1.2

Who uses these and what is your opinion on what you expected/ wanted it to do with your horse/ pony?

I used equijewel as a weight builder a long time ago, never used it as a feed, never heard of the other one.

Both are rice bran Mitavite - Scientifically Balanced Feeds

EQUI-JEWEL - Kentucky Equine Research

I have fed EquiJewel but can't get it anymore, so now feed Manna Pro's "Maxi-Glo".

Rice bran is an excellent source of fat that provides the horse with cool energy.

Rice bran is an additive as it does NOT provide all the necessary vitamins/minerals a horse needs.

If your horse has problems maintaining weight, rice bran is the way to go but you would need to also provide a vitamin/mineral supplement:-)
