Critique Bubbles
Okay so I'm not sure if you guys are famliar with the story of this horse but I won't get into it, long story short she is ten years old, basicly a wild horse, EXCELLENT breeding, belongs to my grandparents. We are still trying to talk him into letting us take her. We really couldn't do a lot with her because we didn't have a round pen when we went up there.

But here's some pictures of her, I just want to know what you guys think of her. I would love to get her in a round pen, work with her, and start her if he lets us take her.

A smidge downhill in this picture...

We spent some time with her Momma April and we coul get semi-close to her, but we couldn't put a rope on her or halter her. If we were lucky we could get up an scratch her neck but one wrong move and she freaked. Took forever to get these pictures.

Is this the filly that was following his dam around when you lunged her? I like her a lot. Short back, strong hindquarters, straight front legs and a deep barrel. There's something funky going on with her chest; in conjunction with a thick neck you may have trouble shortening her frame when the time comes. She also looks to be camped under behind, either that or sickle-hocked. It's hard to tell if her stance is natural or not. Also looks to be toed-out in front, which could be a result of long toes.

Yes, it's the same. And she's a filly. lol Thanks for the critique, I like her a lot too.

Sickle-hocked and cow-hocked.
Something funky going on the the shape of her back legs. Was she injured? The front of the hock looks swollen to me.
She toes out.
Low neck set into a pigeon breast.
Thick neck that could use refinement, or weight loss. Shes obviously well fed. ;-)
Looks a little calf kneed.
I think she could have more bone to her legs for her naturally bulky body.

Pretty color
Lovely head
Short backed.
Decent hindquarters.

looks pretty good. A little toed out and needs a good trimming.

Ohyeah...I can't even get up to her with a rope, let alone clippers o.o Lol

She's not cow hocked. She seems a bit short in length of neck aside from having a little excess width at the base. I don't think she is pigeon breasted.

She's not sickle hocked either... just stands under herself a little bit. If anything, she's a tad bit straight through the hocks. Typical halter QH/paint through the hind... which is not dreadful, but not ideal. Imagine that hindquarter with the massive amounts of muscle you see on halter QH's... yeah, pretty typical halter horse hind end.

I don't like her neck. It's not how thick it is, it's the shape of it.

She looks ok in some pics re her knees but definitely looks back at the knee in other pics. Those cannons are quite long in her front legs, and it looks like she toes out. I think she could definitely use a good farrier and perhaps some corrective trimming (and prayers that it isn't too late to correct any faults).

She's a wee bit long in the back, and a wee bit downhill.

HOWEVER, she is a nice QH type... I love a good QH! (just not a fan of their build for my discipline, but that's a different matter entirely)

She is nearly ten years old and has never seen a farrier...*sigh* Thankfully, her feet aren't THAT bad, all things considered. Our plan, if my grandpa ever gets back to us, is to take our stock trailer up there and since hse's attached to April by the hip just open the thing up, toss April in (She loads by pointing so we won't have to get in there with them) and then shutting the door and letting them have their hustle and bustle fest. April's been there done that so I'm hoping Bubbles will feed off of her. Then when (if) we ever get her home, backing the trailer up to the round pen and just letting them out. Following, removing April and working to get Bubbles halter broke...

Thanks for all your helps guys. I'm really hoping its not too late for this girl.
