what would be best for him?

If I were to have us, both put in training together.
What do you think would suit him best?

He's 8 yrs old. About 15.3 hands.
Mustang(was told) saved from slaughter as a colt
He has the most rough trot I've ever ridden
He used to be used to work/rope cows and ranch work.
As a 2 yr old. I've shown him in an open show a 2 yr old and he got 3rd place.
It was a walk/trot English pleasure type thing for the green horses.
I don't really like riding him western....

I don't think I understand the question.

Any horse can do any discipline to a certain extent. It just depends on what YOU want and how competitive you are going to be.

Lol, yeah I mean, conformation-wise what discipline would he probably be best and most comfortable doing.

In other words, nothing about him really jumps out and says BARRELS or DRESSAGE or anything else. If you like riding English try him in Hunters and maybe eventually over fences when he's trained more.
