Just not having any luck lately :/
 

Some of you may know I dropped my iPod in the toilet...THANKFULLY I managed to save it & now it's fine.

This morning...I woke up and the screen on my blackberry is all cracked (WTF?!?!?!) I have no idea what happened but hopefully I can get another phone for cheap because it would be more expensive to buy out of my plan.

I can't believe this happened...

Technology is insane. I've had all sorts of things with screens.. I am a KLUTZ and no broken screens! And those that are very careful always end up with them just.. breaking on them for no real reason!! It's weird!

I hope that you can get a replacement phone without spending an arm and a leg!

I'm just so upset :(

I'm flat out broke right now..so I'm considering selling my iPod, cameras and old phones (some people buy junk phones for parts, etc here on kijiji) And I guess we will see what happen!

If I sell my iPod, there's no way I will buy anything besides an iPhone. I just couldn't live without my mobile horseforum ;)

Who is your phone company? Have you talked to them yet? I broke my BlackBerry a year into my contract and they said OK, if you let us extend your contract another 2 years on top of the remaining 2 we will give you a new phone.

Definitely give them a call and ask... :)

We did call...and they were not helpful at all!

I'm wondering if I can just buy a phone and put my sim card in that one..

You can if the phone was originally used for your carrier, or is unlocked. I would check out eBay if you haven't already done so. I have seen a few really good BlackBerry's on sale there. Who is your phone carrier?

Telus. I was very happy with them up until now!

I don't see why I can't buy a new phone, switch the sim card, and use that one with my original plan. I'm still paying off my blackberry every month regardless of which phone I'm using so I don't see why I would have to buy out the contract.

I've been looking at Telus iPhones and the cheapest one I could find was $350. I'm gonna try to save up $200 and then sell my iPod for $150. :)

You can! The phone just has to either be programmed for the Telus network or unlocked. For example, if you're browsing eBay and see a Rogers iPhone, even though it will take your SIM card, if it's not unlocked it will not work. Of course you can try unlocking it yourself, there are tons of instructions online but it can be complicated if you've never done it before.

You don't have to do anything with the contract, I was just giving an example of how I got a new phone. :)

Okay, so if I buy a telus phone..it will be even easier?
