Bad juju
So i have a 2002 mazda 626 that i purchased last march...within 3 weeks of having it it broke down 2ce and was at the firestone non stop (they know me by name there because of all the businees i give them with this car) needless to say this $4000 car has cost over $8000.

almost every time i get behind the wheel something major in it breaks....the battery dies, my fuel injectors snap, my fluids hose breaks in half...etc.

BUT.... its works perfectly for my friends....well until this last one....non of my friends who borrow it ( i lease it out since i have my escape now) have ever had a single problem with it.

but two days ago my friend (whos visiting while her AF husband is in a class) borrowed it so they wouldnt have to rent a car...

while they were driving down the freeway they heard a loud POP. they pulled over and couldnt find anything wrong with it but when they continued on to park it at Pearl it made a clicking nose everytime the tire rotated...great another costly repair in my future....

i just think im cursed....somewhere at some time i either pissed off some god or some witch and they cursed me with this car....which ive also had for sale since last june with not ONE single inquiry.

oh well. just thought id put this out there.

stupid juju.

maybe it broke because it knew Kristen (my friend) was trying to advertise it for has a habit of breaking down every time i put the for sale sign back up in its window.... hmmmmmm i think its possessed.

Ugh, last time I heard that noise was when my axle broke on my Nissan quest (which was at 60k miles and was 5 years old at the time). Good luck. Get good insurance and send that thing on a swim!

Roperchick 07-19-2012 12:40 AM

hahahahaha me and my mom have both been contemplating pushing it into the ocean and collecting the insurance! which is good by the way! haha

yeah seeing as ive already put over $4-5000 in repairs on this car im not looking forward to picking it back up this weekend to get it fixed...
hopefully my mechanic buddy i work with can give me some inside info and help me out with it!

i just think its all enormously funny now. im seriously no longer suprised when i brakes just accepting and i anticipate it always happening. haha
plus when it is running im making bank when my friends cars break down and they need to borrow it (cars in hawaii are crap. even brand new ones)

Might be a wheel bearing that broke. Does it click with each rotation and make a clack you can feel? My old PT Cruiser broke wheel bearings THREE TIMES and it was around $500 each time. If its the wheel bearing you can buy the parts at AutoZone or similar and have the mechanic install them.

Turned out that my car was breaking a lot in part because my ex was breaking it.

DA-i dunno yet. its still parked at their hotel and i havnt had time to go look at it yet. hopefully its someting easy that i can buy cheap from opreillys or autozone and have my buddy install!

your ex was breaking it? jeesh haha

Roperchick 07-19-2012 02:35 PM

DA was your car still drivable? they were able to drive it back to their hotel so i have a feeling if it was like my axle or my bearings it wouldnt be able to make it the rest of the way back...idk i hate this car...i really do.

It was still driveable, but not safely. It was reallllly loud and you physically felt when it clacked. The wheel bearing is the piece that holds the wheel to the axle. Of the 3 times it broke, twice were when I was on the road and I drove it to the mechanic - luckily I lived a few blocks away from him then. If it is the wheel bearing its a couple of hours to fix it. I think the part itself was under $100.

And yes my ex was opening my car and busting it up just enough that it would break down on me. We were married so of course had shared keys at one point - I just didn't know he paid the dealer to get a duplicate of the smart key to unlock the car. He was mad at me becaus I had the nerve to ask for a divorce after I found out that he knocked up his girlfriend that he met through behind my back. She and I made a deal. The car was better once away from him but it was a rolling pile of scrap metal anyway. Bought the stupid thing new and it still had a ton of problems - very common for that car.

wow that sucks

yeah im hoping its something cheap to fix like that. i havent gotten to go down to look at it yet. hopefully saturday i can.

This is why I think new cars are a better "deal" in the end. I know lots of people do not feel the same, but thats my .02.
