He is like most of my minis, he had the older style head and a mix of the older and newer style bodies. The minis right now are suppose to look like arabian horses, when they are body clipped for show, they are clipped just like arabians. Even though mine are the older style, we still do really good in driving and halter with my mare and driving roadster and jumping with my stallion. He would make a nice driving horse if he is tall enough and you can try halter if you like to see how well he can do in it. Some horses do not like halter, to boring for them. In the first pic he looks like he might need some muscling in the back end but in the second one he looks good so it might be the photo. If you want to show serious you will have to sweat his neck down and make sure to get the potbelly from hay/grass off before the show, usually this take 3-4 days off pasture with just hay as his fiber portion of diet. Minis are really hard to feed and get every little place, especially along the spine filled in like it would be on a big horse. That is the joy of owning minis. I do like his coloring and he would probably do well in a multi color stallion/gelding class and if he can jump then there is nothing I see to stop you from jumping him as long as he is old enough. I think the rules for AMHR is 36" high jumps for a maximum. I think he needs some more muscling in his shoulders to make him look more full all the way around, lots of trotting on a long line or round pen fixes this. His neck is lower set on his chest than what the big timers are looking for because they want horses that have necks that come out of their withers, but if check my pictures of my minis, they have the same style head set and we still can beat the pants off of some of these high dollar horses, a lot of it is in how well the horse likes what he is doing, the judge will put up a horse who is set up and looks happy to be there over the horse that is just standing there half asleep or with their ears back, even if the other one is 10 times better than yours. Treats work wonders! Minis in halter are suppose to look like you are trying to paint the prettiest picture of the most perfect horse.

Yea sorry i am definitley mini lady. I have just learned to much because I got sick of taking horses to show after show and losing because I did not clip the right way or my horse was lacking in muscle or whatever! So know I am a walking book
