Anyone from Australia?
I'm trying to find horse forum users from Australia, as I have a question for all of you.
I heard that natural horsemanship is big in Australia these days but it's hard to find natural horsemanship gear for sale. My brother and I are running a small, local-start up that sells natural horsemanship gear. We ship to the US and Canada but were wondering if enough Australians were interested, if we should expand our shipping to the land down under, advertise more there.
What do you guys think? Is the market big enough?
We've had some random customers pay huge amounts just for shipping. If we negated some of those costs, would that be a success?
Let me know what you guys think!
I'm in Aus and I think NH is a growing area here. Quite a few of my friends are into Parelli and Anderson.
I'm not a strong adherent to any type of NH training (although I do take an interest in Richard Maxwell and John O'Leary) but I do incorporate it in groundwork and I use rope halters and 12ft training leads. However I find it really hard to get good quality marine/yachting rope halters - or even just the rope to make them myself. The cheap nylon ones stretch after a single use.

I personally don't use NH stuff, but I do tend to look online at prices for pretty much everything these days. So yes, I think it is worth shipping to Australia - if your prices are competitive, they will be generally far cheaper than we get tack etc here.
Thanks, guys for the input. Seems like our stuff could really be popular there. We're going to look into it! Keep us in mind :)
I think you can get mostly everything you need in Australia, but the prices can be prohibitive.
If you can offer very discounted or free shipping to Australia I'm sure people would look at your products. Otherwise, shipping is generally too expensive to even bother with horse stuff.

I buy all my rope halters/leads from them. They're great so far, really nice rope, doesn't seem to stretch at all. They also will make the rope halters to the measurements of your horse's head if you send them through for no extra cost. Fast turnover and shipping. I really don't like the tack store ones, so these people have been really great.
