A stomach/intestinal bug?
My POA Platinum is sick today. Wouldn't eat last night. And did not eat this morning. Took her temp at 9am, 104.1! called the vet, and followed instructions to administer banamine, hose her off, and keep checking temp every two hours. Well, it worked and in 4 hours w were down to 101.6. An hour later back to 104! And then it took me 6 hours to get it back down to 103. She's now laying down in the field quietly and I have to check on her through the night.
She was vaccinated for flu/rhino the first time in 5 years when I bought her in april. So im just curious... if she has the flu or cold, is it because she hasn't been vaccinated regularly? She was wormed two weeks ago, maybe it lowered her immune system and we picked up something at the park? No runny nose. No cough. Vet says it could be just a virus. I guess it doesn't make sense to me because I've always vaccinated my horses and ive never had this happen. Im a worried horse mom :(
